Electric Castle Festival has announced the headliners of the 2019 edition due on July 17-21, as well as other rock, house and electro major names.
One of the most creative indie bands of the past decade, Florence + The Machine is arriving at the Electric Castle. Built around the fascinating personality of the founder, composer and lead singer Florence Welch, the band has boasted tens of weeks leading the charts around the world, nominations and awards won at the BRIT Awards, Grammy, Mercury, BBC or Billboard Awards.
Florence + the Machine’s latest album launched this summer, High as Hope, is bringing essential changes to their music line, influenced by the radical changes Florence Welch has made in her life.
Oscar winner, rock star, fashion icon, tech investor, Jared Leto has confirmed his presence to Electric Castle next to his brother Shannon Leto; in other words, 30 Seconds to Mars is officially among the festival’s headliners. The latest album of the band, America, is promoted through a world tour that is thus halting to Romania as well. Boasting over 15 million albums in their 20 years of existence, the band is revealing a new elector-influenced style, represented by their latest hits, Walk on Water, Rescue Me, Kings and Queen.
Bring Me The Horizon is also coming to the Electric Castle next year. Maybe the most ambitious British rock band of the moment, BMTH will officially launch a new album early next year and will start touring Europe and Australia. Only two songs of the future Amo album have been released so far.
Next to them, their hometown fellows from Sheffield and rock brothers, the metal-core band While She Sleeps also makes its way to the Romanian festival.
Veterans of the rock indie style, Metric is coming to Romania as well at a moment of maturity of their career started 20 years ago. The lead singer Emily Singer’s charisma has strengthened their success, confirmed by numerous awards.
Indie band The Vaccines is adding on the list, with their latest album, Combat Sports, launched this year.
Known for his collaboration with Lady Gaga, Snoop Dog or Skrillex, Boys Noize DJ and producer represents a premiere at Electric Castle, likewise the controversial Chinese Man, the trip hop French trio. Nominated to Grammies last year, Sofi Tukker will also come to Bontida into oncoming European tour.
Classic music is also making its way through rock and electro, at every EC edition. Kronos Quartet, a Grammy awarded project existing for 40 years, will perform in July 2019.
Other confirmed names: Lemaitre, Mono, Tommy Cash, Handsome Furssau Viagra Boys. The Hospitality Night project continues in 2019 as well, with London Electricity, Dynamite MC, Spy and Danny Byrd.
