EUROPAfest to turn Bucharest into the world jazz stage
25 bands and musicians from 26 countries to race for the Bucharest International Jazz Competition.
Ten years after its debut, EUROPAfest- Bucharest International Jazz Competition, ranked by BBC among the first three jazz festivals in Europe, built a strong identity on the Romanian cultural landscape by presenting various jazz stayles, artists of the new wave and musical projects from the iconic centres.
25 bands in various stage formulas-sextet, quintet, quartet, trio or duo- are competiting in the semifinals, while artists from 26 countries- USA, the Netherlands, Germany, UK, Poland, Italy, Belgium, Canada, Columbia, South Korea, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Greece, Hong Kong-China, Indonesia, Japan, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Thailand. Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary and Venezuela- will present the new trends of this music genre.
During May 14th-20th, under the motto “100% jazz and more” the event invites music lovers to attend memorable high-quality nights. It will be a week dedicated to performances, workshops and jam sessions animated by artists on four continents.
jmEvents invites anyone who is in love with this music genre or want to discover it to Bucharest International Jazz Competition. Besides authentic performances, the audience can pick a favourite band to endorse it up to the Finals.

EUROPAfest, the only festival in Europe rejoining 4 music genres- jazz | blues | pop | classic – is presenting 300 artists from 45 countries during May 12th -21st under the motto “It’s all about live quality music!”
Apart from the Bucharest International Jazz Competition, the agenda also includes the Opening Gala Concert-Bucharest&Sibiu, jazz, blues, pop and classic concerts, Jeunesses International Piano Competition Dinu Lipatti, master-classes and workshops, Caffe Festival, Festival’s corner and EUROPAfest Gala.
