Over 230 designers, 8 collective exhibitions, 4 cultural venues at Romanian Jewelry Week
The Assamblage association continues this year’s marathon of contemporary jewelry with the largest event dedicated to jewelry in Bucharest – the 4th edition of Romanian Jewelry Week. Between October 4 and 8, at the National Library of Romania, more than 230 designers, schools, associations and collectives from more than 30 countries around the world are part of the ROJW 2023 selection, proposing thousands of designer jewelry creations from Romania, the UK, the USA , Australia, France, Kuwait, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Lithuania, Israel, Ukraine, Belgium and many more. This year’s edition already included two other successful events at ISHO Timișoara, part of the Timișoara European Capital of Culture 2023 program, as well as the first edition of the event in Chisinau at the National History Museum of Moldova.
The central exhibition will open on Wednesday, October 4, at 6:30 p.m., at the National Library of Romania and will be complemented by eight collective exhibitions, renowned international schools and associations: Slovenian Jewelry Week, Plus One Collective, Legnica Silver Festival Poland, ArtsThread in collaboration with Gucci, One and Three Collective, Precious Collective and The Sense of Beauty Gallery, as well as the collective of winners of the Timeless Jewelry contest organized by the Brașov National Art Museum. A renowned international jury will select the prizes in this edition, a jury that includes established representatives of some of the most important international organizations in the field of contemporary jewelry such as the European Jewelry Federation, the Ilias Lalaounis Museum of Jewelry in Athens, the Legnica Silver Festival and many others.
During October 7-8, they will also be available for purchase during the Romanian Jewelry Week Fair 2023 at the National Library of Romania, during the fair which will include over 60 contemporary jewelry designers.
Romanian Jewelry Week 4.0 will also take a tour of contemporary jewelry in 4 other cultural locations in Bucharest: the National Museum of Romanian Literature – the Jewelry and Literature exhibition (Tincal lab, Portugal), AlbAlb – Romanian Jewelry Focus, the Cotroceni National Museum and Assemblage Jewelry Gallery. This year, the Romanian Jewelry Week special program will also include a series of workshops and conferences, supported by teachers, designers, curators and professionals from all over the world.
1.The National Library of Romania – the main location Romanian Jewelry Week
The National Library of Romania will host the Romanian Jewelry Week central exhibition for the second consecutive year, starting on October 4, 2022, as well as a special section of the fair for sale on October 7-8, 2023, with over 200 designers and thousands of jewelry exhibits contemporary. Visiting schedule – October 4, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., October 5-8, 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.Entrance to the first 3 days of the event is free, and entrance tickets for the contemporary jewelry fair on October 7 and 8 are available on the Iabilet.ro network.

2. The National Museum of Romanian Literature
The National Museum of Romanian Literature presents for the first time, in collaboration with Romanian Jewelry Week and Tincal Lab (Portugal), a curatorial selection of the Jewelry and Literature exhibition between October 4-8, 2023. The museum exhibition presents a selection of 120 pieces signed by 56 contemporary jewelry designers from around the world.

Special event: October 5, from 6:30 p.m. – Opening of the Jewelry and Literature exhibition.

3. Cotroceni National Museum
The Cotroceni National Museum organizes in collaboration with Romanian Jewelry Week a special selection of 8 contemporary jewelry designers from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Italy, Germany and Greece, exhibited this year at the special editions of Romanian Jewelry Week in Timișoara and Chisinau. The winners of the Timeless Jewelry competition, part of “Ecouri ale prestigeiuului”, a cultural project initiated by the Brașov Art Museum in partnership with Assamblage – the National Association of Authors and Designers of Contemporary Jewelry and the Cotroceni National Museum and co will also be presented during the exhibition. -financed by AFCN.

4. AlbAlb – Romanian Jewelry Focus
Dedicated exclusively to Romanian creators, the AlbAlb store promotes a generous selection of design products with a special focus on designer jewellery. AlbAlb hosts the Monom showroom in Bucharest, alongside jewelry pieces signed by: Daniela Cățoi, Diana Cojocaru, Maria Paltin, Anayd Blu, Cara, Alis Lalu, Contemporia, Octavia Chiru, Instance, Atelier Devi, Vilegiatura, Enda, Mesteshukar ButiQ , Ana Marchetanu, Human APJ, Artefact Room, Catrinel Săbăciag, Carla Szabo, Karakter, Gruni, Ceramic Sparrow and Mica Cera.
Visiting schedule: October 4 – 8 – 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. – AlbAlb focus on designer jewelery from Romania.
5. Assemblage Jewelry Gallery
Following jewelry as an art form and necessity, Assamblage Jewelry Gallery is the result of a long process of stimulating, supporting and developing the field of contemporary jewelry. Located in Bucharest, Romania, the Assamblage Gallery is the first permanent space dedicated to contemporary jewelry and a continuation of the Assamblage Jewelry School’s effort to educate the public in this discipline.

6. Film Screening SMCK on Reel 2023, the first international film festival inspired by the gem, under the theme Civilization Rebooted.
