International film festival for children KINOdiseea reaches 10th edition

The 10th edition of the International Film Festival for children KINOdiseea is due in Bucharest November 8-13. Nine movies will be racing for the festival’s trophy.

Feature films but also short films for children will be screened at Eforie Cinema, Gloria Cinema and Pro Cinema, as well as in several schools in District 3 of the Capital.

The opening gala will take place on November 8, at 7 p.m. at Pro Cinema with the preview of the animation „White Fang” directed by Alexandre Espigares. Vitello” (Denmark, 2018, directed by Dorte Bengston), „Children of Genghis” (Mongolia, 2017, direction Zolbayar Dorj), „The Breadwinner / Parvana)” (Ireland, Canada, Luxembourg co-production, 2018, direction Nora Twomey, executive producer Angelina Jolie), „The Falcons” (Iceland, direction Bragi Thor Hinriksson), „Supa Modo” (Germany, Kenya, direction Likarion Wainaina), „Los Bando” (Norway, Sweden, direction Christian Lo), „Captain Morten and The Spider Queen” (Ireland, Estonia, Belgium, direction Kaspar Jancis, Riho Unt and Henry Nicholson) and „The Little Witch” (Switzerland, Germany, direction Michael Schaerer) are the feature films to be screened at KINOdiseea this year.

Outside the competition, the Romanian film for children „The Guardians” (directed by Liviu Mărghidan) will have a special screening, followed by a meeting with the film crew that worked at the first Romanian feature film with and about children after 1989.

The festival will also have workshops for the little ones, free of charge, where kids will be introduced in the secrets of acting and film directing, virtual reality and film production.

The awarding ceremony gala is scheduled on November 13, at 7 p.m. at Eforie Cinema, with a surprise movie in store.

KINOdiseea is organized by Metropolis Cultural Association. The Romanian Journal is supporting the festival as media partner.
