The New Year That Never Came awarded the Best Film in the Orizzonti section at Venice Film Festival
The New Year That Never Came received the award for Best Film in the Orizzonti section at the Closing Ceremony of the Venice International Film Festival, Biennale Cinema, 81st edition.
“We are thrilled and overjoyed to share such great news from Biennale Cinema: The Best Film Award in the Orizzonti section comes to Romania, for the first time! The New Year That Never Came/ Anul Nou care n-a fost, directed by Bogdan Mureșanu is the winner!”, said the film representatives on the Facebook page.
“I dedicate this award to the entire team that worked on this large film, with over 40 wonderful actors. Also, because this film also reminds of life under a dictatorial regime, I dedicate this award to all the people in the world who still know this situation, who are looking for dignity, freedom and humanity. I hope you have as great a New Year as we have,” said in his turn director Bogdan Mureșanu.
