First edition of Natura Fest to take place on June 5-6
On Saturday Bucharesters can mount a bike to celebrate World Environment Day.
Thus, a bike route, creative recycling workshops and Grimus and Les Elephants Bizarres concerts are among the activities organized at the first edition of Natura Fest, an event dedicated to World Environment Day, which will take place on June 5 and 6 in Cismigiu Park in Bucharest.
The slogan of this edition of the festival is “Recycle, reuse, recreate”.
The festival aims, through the creative workshops which are based on recyclable materials for both children and adults, and through other activities, to draw attention on the importance of protecting the environment. The event also aims at making accountable an as large as possible number of people regarding the town in which they live and, thus, regarding the natural environment.
To militate against the excessive pollution in the capital, Natura Fest has prepared a green route for the Bucharesters, namely the Bicycle Green Running (Saturday, June 6, at 10.00). Registration will be made based on a recyclable material brought by each participant and the organizers will give the start in Cismigiu Park, continuing on Regina Elisabeta Boulevard, Mihail Kogalniceanu Square, Vasile Parvan Street, Berzei Street, Uranus Boulevard, Victoriei Square – Calea Victoriei – Regina Elisabeta, with the finish line in Cismigiu Park.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action in order to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
