Folk festival at Enisala fortress this weekend
Two sleepless nights of folk music, theatre and film are scheduled at Enisala Fortress, Tulcea county (Dobrogea region in southeastern country) on August 28-29 within “Pro Istoria Fest” itinerant festival. Local folk ensembles will come to speak about the region’s traditions, while two documentary films about the fortress and Sarichioi commune will be screened. The festival also includes a puppet show and a need fire.
The festival is meant to promote the cultural historical sites across the country and to enhance the number of visitors. This year, the festival included Enisala Fortress on its top list.
Tulcea County Council co-finances the festival, also with the support of Sarichioi Local Council.
The tourists attending the festival can stay in tent camping or find accommodation at the locals’ houses in Enisala village. You can sleep in Lipovan-style homes for RON 80 per night. Accommodation is also available at the three-star hotel in Babadag, seven km away from the fortress for RON 100 per night.
