Four new multiplex cinemas this year

Cinema City, the biggest operator in Romania, part of Cineworld Group will open four new multiplex cinemas this year: in Bucharest, Timișoara, Buzău and Piatra-Neamț.

At the same time, Cinema City will welcome movies fans this year with new IMAX and 4DX productions, but also with new cinema productions: “Star Wars: Rogue One”, “Captain America: Civil War”, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, “X-Men Apocalypse”, “Deadpool”, “The Hateful Eight”, “Alice Through The Looking Glass”, “The Jungle Book”, “Zootropolis” and “Finding Dory”.

Cinema City launched 5 new multiplex cinemas last year, in Bucharest, Constanța (including a 4DX cinema hall), in Deva, Drobeta Turnu Severin and Suceava, in a total investment mounting to EUR 27 M.

One of the most important openings last year was the one in Mega Mall, Bucharest, hosting 14 cinema halls and the first 4DX cinema mall in Romania, housing 128 seats. The total investment mounted to EUR 5.6 M.

At present, Cinema City owns 22 cinemas and 198 halls countrywide.
