Green light for registrations at Sibiu Performing Arts Open Market

Cultural companies and artists from 8 countries announced their attendance at the 19th edition of Sibiu Performing Arts Open Market, an event which takes place within the International Theater Festival in Sibiu, due on June 15-20.

The cultural open market event will rejoin artistic companies and artists who will present and promote their own productions and projects in the field of the show’s arts. Registrations are available until April 30.

Up to now, seven companies from abroad signed up: Bandart Production (Hungary), Polyplanity Production (Greece), TIDA – Théâtre Danse (Italy), Yohangza (South Korea), NordbergMovement (Sweeden), Bad New Days Performing Arts (Canada) and Peripecia Teatro (Portugal).

Romania will take part with “Lucian Blaga” National Theater from Cluj-Napoca, “Andrei Muresanu” Theater from Sf. Gheorghe, “Queen Mary” Theater from Oradea, Drum Café from Bucharest, “Marin Sorescu” National Theater from Craiova and Unfold Motion company from Timisoara.

The official opening of the Performing Arts Open Market will take place on June 15, starting 11:00, followed by a special conference on “European Culture Capitals 2021”, chaired by Karel Bartak, the “Creative Europe” program’s director, within the General Direction for Education and Culture of the European Commission.

Cities from Romania and Greece running for this title will be able to get guidance fro their projects.

An honor guest of the Stock Exchange this year will be Joseph Melillo, director of Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York, who will hold a special conference. Hugo de Greef, co-founder of the festival’s Academy will moderate the Festival Readings, an educational platform of public conferences about the artistic management of the festivals.
