Romanian actress Tamara Buciuceanu Botez, aged 90, has died in hospital on Tuesday. She had been admitted at Elias Hospital in Bucharest since early this month due to a an older heart disease.
Also known as the lady of the Romanian comedy, Tamara Buciuceanu was a symbol of the golden generation of the Romanian acting, performing both in memorable theatre plays and in films. She remained in the memory of the movie lovers for her roles as “Isosceles”, playing a maths teacher in a well known Romanian series “Liceenii” (The High-Schoolers), or as Coana Chirita.
“It is with regret that Elias Hospital announces the death of a great lady of Romanian theatre, Mrs. Tamara Buciuceanu Botez. Our sincere condolences!”, the hospitals says in a press release.
In 2011, as a sign of appreciation for her impressive career, Tamara Buciuceanu-Botez received a star on the Celebrities Alley.
