22 jazz bands from 20 countries will tread the boards for the 2017 edition of EUROPAfest-Bucharest International Jazz Competition. Jazz sextet, quintet, quartet, trio and duo bands from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czechia, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, UK, Nepal, The Netherlands, Spain, USA and Hungary will present the latest jazz trends in the Romanian Capital during May 13-20, under the slogan “100% jazz”.
There will a whole week of concerts, workshops and jamm sessions ‘jazzed up’ by original artists from 4 continents, with different cultural backgrounds, racing for the Big Trophy.
Bucharest International Jazz Competition by jmEvents is a cultural project co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration.
Under the slogan “It’s all about live quality music!”, EUROPAfest, the only festival in Romania getting together four musical genres – jazz | blues | pop | classic, will rejoin over 300 artists from 45 countries during May 11-20.
Besides Bucharest International Jazz Competition, the festival also comprises: Opening Gala Concert – Bucharest & Sibiu, jazz, blues, pop and classic performances, Jeunesses International Flute Competition Dinu Lipatti, master-classes and workshopuri, Caffe Festival, Festival’s corner and the EUROPAfest Gala.
