One of the most expected bands at Electric Castle 2018, London Grammer, has cancelled the concert it was supposed to perform on Sunday, on the last day of the festival.

Although they were headliners, the London Grammar announced they will not be able to perform in Romania due to the health problems of the lead singer, Hannah. She suffered a surgical intervention and the band had to call off the performances scheduled at Electric Castle and at the Colours of Ostrava in the Czech Republic.

We are sorry to announce that due to illness we’ll not be coming to Colours of Ostrava festival in the Czech Republic and Electric Castle in Romania. We are really devastated to not be able to fulfill these commitments and come and see all of you. We hope to have the opportunity to play for you in the future,” reads a band’s Facebook post.

The organizers of the Electric Castle Festival stated they are making efforts to find a new artist or band to be the headliner on Sunday, although it’s all in the home stretch. They also informed that people who want a ticket refund from the London Grammar concert must send an e-mail to the festival’s address and ask this, proving the ticket has not been used.

Electric Castle Festival has kicked off, with over 200,000 spectators expected and with the already famous rain accompanying the event in store this year, too.

Only five years since launching, the festival held at the Banffy Castle on Bontida domain in Cluj county has become one of the most acknowledged music events in Romania, also luring foreign tourists.Nine stages and tens of entertainment areas have been set up on those almost 30 hectares of the property

The rain, which accompanied every edition of the festival, has not missed the show in the first night either, and has even prompted the Police to use it in their message to inform spectators about the festival’s rules.

We prepared our rain boots for #ElectricCastle, the only festival where rain has become a trademark! An advantage would be you can dance in the rain, which is very beautiful…however, if you get a cold, be careful what “pills” you are taking! We consider we informed you!,” reads the Interior Ministry’s Facebook post, accompanying the photo below.
