Miss Universe Romania to wear 10,000-Swarovski crystals dress inspired by Queen Mary of Romania in the finals in Israel

For the first time in history, the Miss Universe pageant will take place in Eilat, Israel and will be broadcast live in over 170 countries. Carmina Cotfas, Romania’s representative, will have an outfit inspired by the dress of Queen Maria of Romania, adorned with 10,000 Swarovski crystals, which cost 20,000 USD dollars, created by the Israeli designer Aviad Arik Herman.

More than 1,200 members of the official Miss Universe delegations from about 100 countries, as well as beauty contest enthusiasts and public figures are expected to arrive in Eilat, the Red Sea resort loved by tourists from around the world, starting in late November. Before leaving for Israel, Carmina Cotfas, Romania’s representative in the Miss Universe competition, revealed her spectacular dress created by Israeli designer Aviad Arik Herman.The dress with which Miss Universe Romania, Carmina Cotfas, will parade at the national costume test in the Israeli final of Miss Universe is a tribute dress of the Romanian traditional dress and a reinterpretation of the suman worn by Queen Maria of Romania. The dress was made in 3 months and is made of fine brocade and luxury embroidery with Romanian motifs. It has 10,000 Swarovski crystals in the colors of the Romanian flag and its value exceeds 20,000 dollars

The dress with which Miss Universe Romania, Carmina Cotfas, will wear on the catwalk at the national costume test in the Israeli final of Miss Universe is a tribute dress of the Romanian traditional dress and a reinterpretation of the ‘suman’ worn by Queen Maria of Romania. The dress was made in 3 months and is made of fine brocade and luxury embroidery with Romanian motifs. It has 10,000 Swarovski crystals in the colors of the Romanian flag and its value exceeds 20,000  USD dollars.

“I am glad that Israel is celebrating the reopening of borders for international tourism through an event of this magnitude. The eyes of the whole world will turn to Israel and especially to Eilat, a tourist area emblematic of Israel. My role as ambassador involves creating bridges between the Israeli community, which I represent, and the Romanian community, which welcomed me with open arms. This dress, made with passion by the designer Aviad Arik Herman will bring to the public the stylistic essence of Romania and I can only wish a lot of success to Carmina Cotfas, the representative of Romania in this competition,” said David Saranga, Israel’s ambassador to Romania.
