The first event dedicated to the art of the A10 by Artmark Auction House this year proposes a collection of over 100 pieces of graphics, signed by the most important artists of the 20th century, such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, René Magritte, Henri Matisse , Edgar Degas, Marc Chagall, Amedeo Modigliani, Edvard Munch, Egon Schiele, but also Andy Warhol and Victor Brauner.

Among them are two Edgar Degas bronzes (photo attached), “The Little Ballet Dancer” and “Dancer Looking at the Sole of her Right Foot“, editions of famous works that caused real reactions at the end of the 19th century. This little Degas ballerina was Marie van Goethem. When he presented this work, in 1881, he was blasphemed,” says Cristina Joia, Visual Artist & Interior Designer, for the Artmark YouTube channel. There she also explains why this work was so controversial.

The selection also includes a record number of graphic pieces by Salvador Dali, more than 30, with starting prices from only 250 euros, such as “Battle around a Dandelion”, “The Cup of Love”, “Alice in Wonderland”, “Velasquez”.

Throughout the history of the A 10 by Artmark Auction House, pieces of European graphic art and sculpture have been awarded in a proportion of 100. These have begun to register significant increases in the last profile auctions – such as the jump made by the signed lithograph by Salvador Dali – “Portrait of Mrs. Dorothy Spreckles Munn”, which was auctioned for €2,500, from a starting price of just €250.

The auction of a European Engraving Collection entitled “From Salvador Dali to Andy Warhol” will take place exclusively online, Friday, January 26, from 12:00, on the Artmark Live Platform. Until then, art enthusiasts can admire all the exhibits, free of charge , daily, at Palatul Cesianu-Racoviță (from C.A. Rosetti street no. 5), in the time interval 10.00-20.00.

As of today, until Sunday (January 28), the extraordinary “Queen’s Jewels” Exhibition, a collection of hundreds of thousands of euros, can be visited at the Palace – on the occasion of the 165th anniversary of the Union of the Romanian Principalities.
