Museum Night settled for May 21, guide mobile app available

The 2016 edition of the Museum Night will take place on May 21 and will be marked by a premiere in Romania: an audio-video guidance will be available on mobile phones for all the museums in Bucharest and in other big cities, such as Cluj-Napoca or Iași. The mobile app is financed by the Culture Ministry.
The initial date for this event was on May 14. According to the event’s organizers, the date of May 21 was chosen by the French Culture Ministry and is taken over by every country.
Museum Night is luring tens of thousands of visitors every year, with people queuing for hours to get to visit for free their favorite arts collections or museums.
The 2015 edition was a little bit different, as it was marked by a protest staged by all the museums in the country. Thus, a valuable work from each of these museums has been covered. The move aimed at warning over the dramatic situation of the Romanian museums.
