Artmark puts Nazi officer’s sword to auction
The sword of a Nazi officer, close to Adolf Hitler, will be put up for auction by Artmark in Bucharest on October 27.
The parade swords, especially created for the diplomatic officers during the Third Reich, are considered some of the most rare and valuable objects produced in Germany run by Hitler during 1933-1945.
The sword, comprised in the auction “Great Romania, including an arm collection” represents a true rarity for the military artifacts virtuosi.
According to an Artmark press release, the sword belonged to one of the persons closed to Hitler, who also had a high status in the German society of that time: the sword is adorned with Nazi motifs, including the eagle in Art Deco brushes.
The reserve price is EUR 10,000.
The sword is going on display at Artmark headquarters in Bucharest until October 26, while the auction on the arm collection, along with the watches’ auction, are due at Athénée Palace Hilton on October 27, as of 8 p.m.
