An exceptional engraving collection comprising 41 works by Theodor Aman is waiting art lovers at Artmark auction session on May 26-28 within the Auction of Graphics and Maps.

Acquaforte engraving ranks among the top in Aman’s creations, with the performances acquired in this technique bringing him the title of member of the Aquaforte artists Society in Paris in 1875.

Cards” (estimated for EUR 1,000-1,600), “Pepica Aman” (EUR 700-1,200), “Carol I, Romanians’ ruler” (EUR 400-700), “Pheasant” (EUR 500-800), “The Illusionist” (EUR 700-1,200) are only some works of the Aman’s patrimony present in this auction. Theodor Aman came to the front of the Romanian art’s history not only through his works, but also due to his role as the founder of the first Belle Arte School in Bucharest.

The exhibition also comprises graphics works signed by Nicolae Tonitza, Theodor Pallady, Iosif Iser, Nicolae D?r?scu, George Löwendal, Corneliu Baba.

The exhibition is opened at Artmark until May 27, with the auction taking place on May 28, at Athénée Palace Hilton.
