New bands confirmed for ARTmania Festival 2023: Haken, TesseracT, Wardruna and Port Noir
New band confirmations for a new edition ARTmania 2023, which will take place between July 28 and July 30, 2023 in Piata Mare in Sibiu: Haken, TesseracT, Port Noir, Vulture Industries, Wardruna, Sirenia and Koikoi, alongside Porcupine Tree, Emperor, Pain of Salvation and Samael.
In addition, the festival gathers also some bands from Romania: RoadkillSoda and Asemic.

TesseracT is considered one of a pioneer bands of the djent style, TesseracT has released four studio albums to date, ‘One’, ‘Altered State’, ‘Polaris’ and ‘Sonder’, and two live albums, ‘Odyssey/Scala’ (2015) and ‘ Portals” (2021). The most recent discographic appearance is “Regrowth”, EP released this year.
British progressive rock group Haken will return to ARTmania Festival five years after their first appearance on this festival stage.
Formed in 2007 by multi-instrumentalist Richard Henshall, guitarist, Matthew Marshall and lead singer Ross Jennings, Haken made their recording debut three years later with ‘Aquarius’. This year, the band released the album “Fauna”, an eclectic material, very well received by both specialist critics and the public.
Port Noir quickly attracted the interest of the music community with its unique sound, also inspired by artists such as Queens of the Stone Age, Daft Punk, Rage Against the Machine and The Weeknd.
The band made their recording debut in 2013 with “Puls”, which was followed by “Any Way the Wind Carries” (2016), “The New Routine” (2019) and “Cuts” (2022). During this time, he continued his rise, ending up touring with bands like In Flames, Pain of Salvation and Karnivool.
Vulture Industries‘ first album came out in 2007. The critically acclaimed Dystopia Journals was followed by the equally well-received The Malefactor’s Bloody Register and two other studio releases. In recent years, the band has been part of the lineup of several genre festivals in Europe, and in Sibiu they will bring a show recognized for its scenography and theatricality.
KOIKOI are a genre-fluid, body-moving, mood-altering indie-rock band from Serbia who have quickly become one of the biggest names in the indie scene in the former Yugoslavia. With an excellent debut album ‘Pozivi u struna’ (Moonlee Records, 2021) and energetic shows, they are the ones who fill the niche between the intimacy of the underground and the glitz of the mainstream.
At night, the organizers light up the center of Sibiu, and people can spend the day watching movies, visiting museum and exhibitions.
Over the years, the festival has seen a number of major artists and bands take to the stage, from Steven Wilson, Peter Hammill, Serj Tankian and Devin Townsend to Die Toten Hosen, Nightwish, Within Temptation, HIM, Tarja Turunen, The Gathering, The Sisters of Mercy, Anathema, Apocalyptica, Riverside, Lacuna Coil, Helloween, Lacrimosa, Poets of the Fall or Deine Lakaien, among many others.
ARTmania Festival, the first Romanian festival that has brought on the local market the concept of combining the art with entertainment, is a platform dedicated to promoting all forms of artistic expression inspired by rock culture.
