Nordic Film Festival in Timișoara. Tickets are now on sale
NORDIC FILM FESTIVAL, #NordicFF, welcomes movie lovers to its first edition in Timișoara, the European Capital of Culture in 2023, between September 28th – October 1st 2023, at Victoria Cinema, str. Ciprian Porumbescu No.2.
The festival brings to the public attention 12 carefully selected films that celebrate the diversity of artistic forms and visions proposed by filmmakers from all five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
“We offer a rich and diverse program of awards-winning films at major international festivals. Whether you opt for drama (A Perfect Normal Family), romance (Girl picture), movie for children (Supermarsu 2), horror (Lamb), history (Amundsen) or biography (Sonja: The White Swan), you will discover an atypical cinematic space”, said Vlad Rotaru, artistic director of the festival.
The movies have Romanian and English subtitles.
#NordicFF comes with a novelty: hearing-impaired people will have the opportunity to watch a Nordic film accessible for them, “Louis and Luca – Mission to the Moon”, screened on October 1st at 2 p.m.
The film will be followed by the workshop “#deaf in Timișoara/Romania/Europe”, on communication in Romanian sign language and the present public is invited to participate to it.
Ms. Angela Mate, teacher/interpreter for Romanian sign language and her guests will conduct the workshop, which will include a brief presentation of the deaf community, an introduction to the world without sounds, some curiosities about the “island of silence” and proposes 23 signs to mark Timisoara, European Capital of Culture 2023.
The festival is organized with the support of the Royal Danish Embassy in Bucharest, the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Bucharest, The Consulate of Iceland in Romania, The Norwegian Embassy to Romania, and the Embassy of Sweden in Bucharest.
The first edition of #NordicFF took place in 2018 in Bucharest. It was followed by two other editions in Bucharest (2020, 2022) and two retrospective editions in Sibiu and Chisinau (2019).
Tickets can be purchased online from https://cinemavictoria-tm.ro/evenimente/nordic-film-festival-la-timisoara/ and from the box office of Victoria Cinema in Timișoara situated on str. Ciprian Porumbescu No.2.
