Nordic Film Festival Returns to Bucharest, November 23-26
After Timisoara, the NORDIC FILM FESTIVAL returns with its fourth edition in Bucharest from November 23 to 26. The festival will take place at Cinema Elvire Popesco, 77 Dacia Blvd. Over the four days of the festival, Nordic cinema enthusiasts can enjoy 14 feature films, showcasing the diversity and unique aspects of the Nordic region through the artistic visions of filmmakers from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
“This year’s selection is perhaps the best so far. We have a rich and diverse program of films awarded at international festivals, covering a multitude of genres. Whether you opt for romance (Girl Picture) or drama (such as A Perfect Normal Family or Backyard Village), for a horror film (Lamb) or a historical one (Amundsen), for a biography (Sonja: The White Swan), a children’s film (Supermarsu 2), or a documentary (Maija Isola), you will enter an unconventional and captivating cinematic space,” stated Vlad Rotaru, the festival’s artistic director.
- Thursday– Opening Night
- Friday – Thriller Night
- Saturday– Kids Morning & Drama Evening
- Sunday – Kids Morning & Girl Power Evening
The films are subtitled in Romanian and English.
The festival is organized with the support of the Royal Danish Embassy in Bucharest, the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Bucharest, the Consulate of Iceland in Romania, the Embassy of Norway in Romania, and the Embassy of Sweden in Bucharest.
The first edition of #NordicFF took place in 2018 in Bucharest, followed by two more editions in Bucharest (2020, 2022) and two retrospective editions in Sibiu and Chisinau (2019). In September of this year, the Nordic Film Festival was hosted for the first time in Timisoara.
