Norwegian pianist Hakon Austbo to perform in Bucharest in May

One of the great Norwegian masters of the piano, Hakon Austbo will perform at the Romanian Athenaeum on May 18.

The recital will rejoin works by de Frederic Chopin, Edvard Grieg, Olivier Messiaen and Claude Debussy.

Hakon Austbo has been a renowned interpreter of Scriabin, Messiaen and Debussy. He actually worked directly with Messiaen, while performing next to famous conductors such as Haitink, Tabacknik, Eotvos and Jansons.

Professor at the Amsterdam Conservatory, Austbo has done many recordings for the label Brilliant Classics. He was also an initiator and director of the LUCE project, which was founded to realize Scriabin’s Clavier a lumieres.
