The sixth edition of Vadoo Fest will take place between August 15-18 at Vadu Oii (Gura Teghii, in Buzău). This year’s festival theme is “The Earth is my property X I belong to the Earth,” emphasizing the importance of our connection to the environment and our responsibility towards the planet.

Artists performing for the first time in Romania, with rhythms of reggae, alternative rock, jazz, and world music.

This year, the line-up will include international artists, two of whom will be performing in Romania for the first time – Queen Omega and Rajery, joined by Trio Mandili. The main criteria for their selection was World Music – their involvement in social life and support for causes such as reconnecting with nature and others.

Queen Omega – hails from Trinidad Tobago, and last year, she was listened to by over 120 million people worldwide. Her repertoire is in the reggae genre, with powerful and impactful messages. She is involved in projects aimed at the development and education of women in the local community.

Rajery – is emblematic for Madagascar, playing the defining instrument: the valiha. Through his projects, he is involved and connected to social reality: he initiated and developed Hazo Aina or the Tree of Life, an educational project that aims to support and act for the reforestation of Madagascar. Through music therapy sessions, he has voluntarily treated people with mental disorders. Rajery initiated the first valiha school in the world.

Trio Mandili – known and loved by Romanians, the three girls from Georgia promote the concept of slow living, authenticity, and the timelessness of village life.

A maximum of 600 participants

Vadoo Fest stands out as a different kind of festival: without crowds or queues, safe for children and animals, attentive to the needs of participants, and caring for nature. This makes the number of participants limited this year to a maximum of 600 people, to maintain an intimate and quality experience, remaining that place where you go to recharge.

The experience at the foot of the mountains, in a natural and permanent setting

The festival takes place at the foot of the Penteleu Mountains, in a spectacular setting that includes a natural amphitheater in the stage area, offering participants an authentic and unique experience. The festival is dedicated to those who love nature and seek to spend a truly special event, sleeping under the open sky in the camping area, in a permanent setting, specially arranged with natural elements. The stage, bar, and tavern are built from wood and stone (architecture integrated into nature) and remain there throughout the year.

Conceptual art in nature

Besides good and relaxing music, participants will also enjoy a contemporary art show, supported by the Alt Real association’s creative and experimental laboratory, which challenges festival-goers to explore new perspectives within the Natural Bond project. This includes performances and performative installations with the theme “The Earth is my property X I belong to the Earth,” mentored by renowned artists Lia and Dan Perjovschi.

We bring to Romania a different kind of festival concept, where you can disconnect and recharge your batteries. African rhythms and harmonies, fascinating sounds from different parts of the world and from Romania, all combined with the incredible acoustics of a natural amphitheater. The program is specially designed as an experience of returning to nature and connecting with yourself, first and foremost. We look forward to dancing until morning barefoot in the grass, under the Perseids of August. This is how, in just a few words, the sixth edition of Vadoo Fest will look: good music, a relaxing atmosphere, disconnection from worries, reconnection with yourself, with nature, and beautiful people,” says Petre Ancuța, Artistic Director of Vadoo Fest.
