Feature film “Winter Sleep” directed by Turkish filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan, awarded the Palme d’Or prize at Cannes International Film Festival in 2014 will be screened in the Romanian cinemas starting January 16.
Nuri Bilge Ceylan, also known for “Once upon a time in Anatolia”, tells now the story of the former actor Aydin, who owns a small hotel in a village in Anatolian plateau and who is in a constant conflict with his acquaintances, with his marriage but also with himself.
“Winter Sleep”, a drama adapted after Russian writer Chekhov, was declared a sublime, delicate and moving film about love, family and society. Chigaco Tribune said the movie “was the best screen play of Chekhov for cinema.”
“Winter Sleep” will be screened at Studio, Union, Elvira cinemas in Bucharest, at Hollywood Multiplex Bucure?ti Mall and Movieplex, at Grand Cinema Digiplext in Cluj Napoca, at Victoria Cinema in Targu Mures, at Arta Cinema in Constanta and at Cityplex Brasov.
