The 12-artist orchestra performing in 25 languages is opening the winter concert season in Bucharest this weekend, the organizers from Events announced.
Pink Martini’s Christmas tour gigs this year will bring for the first time in Romania the winter song collection that the band has gathered from all over the world. From the Ukrainian, French and Italian carols to the winter songs from Israel, Scotland or Germany, from the Chinese New Year’s Eve songs to the famous White Christmas sung in Japanese, they will all resonate on the Sala Palatului’s stage.
Pink Martini loves Romania, with Thomas Lauderdale, the band leader, saying that Bucharest is their second home. Their sold-out performances are transposing spectators into travelers around the globe, from the romantic plazas of Italy to the Bosphorus shores, from the saucy cafes in Paris to the Far East and from the mysterious Asia to the spirited cities of South America.
Pink Martini is a musical group that was formed in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in Portland, Oregon. Members of the band call it a little orchestra that crosses the genres of classical music, classic pop, Latin music, and jazz.
Tickets for the Pink Martini gig on December 1&2 are available through the Eventim network (Germanos, Vodafone, Orange, Domo stores, Humanitas and Carturesti bookshops) or online at www.eventim.ro.
