Pitch, please! Animest opens the submissions for the project competition dedicated to animation film creators
For its 14th edition, The International Animation Film Festival Animest (4-13 October, Bucharest) challenges the animation directors and producers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova to bring to light their short film projects that are in the pre-production stage. Pitch, please! is the initiative through which Animest continues to stimulate and promote the creatives in the field, offering them the opportunity to present their ideas in front of a professional jury.
The winning project will be awarded a double accreditation for the director and producer to CEE Animation Forum – the international event that welcomes annually the most important names in the industry. The accreditation covers transport, accommodation, and access to all workshops and networking sessions for the awarded team.
Until the 16th of September, directors and producers (individually or in a team) are invited to submit to the pitching sessions by sending an email to the organizers with the subject “Pitch, please!”, at pitch@animest.ro.
The applications will be considered eligible only if they include the following documents attached in English:
- project synopsis
- artwork and character design proposals, a storyboard is optional
- the resume of the applicant
- director’s showreel
Before the grand meeting with the jury, held on October 12, representatives of the selected projects will benefit from a 4-day prep session. Two trainers from the industry will offer mentorships and consultancy to the participants, providing support for their pitch regarding the script and the creative and technical development of the project.
The contest does not include a submission fee and all the selected participants will have free access to the events included in the program of Animest 14. An important condition for participating is the availability of the directors and producers between 7-12 October in Bucharest.
Pitch, please! is an ANIMEST project organized with the support of UCIN (The Romanian Filmmakers Union), in partnership with CEE Animation Forum.
