This spring, the Romanian Athenaeum will host a grand event on April 27th at 8:00 PM, celebrating the musical genius of composer ENNIO MORRICONE!

Under the title “ENNIO MORRICONE: OSCAR-WINNING MUSIC”, the concert promises to bring the unmistakable magic of timeless musical masterpieces that have made cinematic history. The performance will feature the renowned “LE MUSE” orchestra, conducted by the celebrated maestro ANDREA ALBERTINI!

A special guest of the evening will be the world-famous soprano SUSANNA RIGACCI, who collaborated with Ennio Morricone for two decades during his international tours. Additionally, vocalist ANGELICA DEPAOLI will add extra emotion and elegance to this unique spectacle.

The audience will embark on a fascinating musical journey, enhanced by spectacular video projections showcasing memorable scenes from the films scored by Ennio Morricone. Iconic pieces such as “The Ecstasy of Gold” from “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, “Gabriel’s Oboe” from “The Mission”, “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”, “Once Upon a Time in America”, and many more will be performed.

This event is a tribute to the artistry and extraordinary talent of a master who redefined film music and inspired generations of artists and music lovers alike!

About Morricone

Born on November 10, 1928, in Rome, Ennio Morricone is recognized for his exceptional contribution to film music. With over 500 soundtracks composed, Morricone has redefined the standards of film music, collaborating with famous directors such as: Sergio Leone, Giuseppe Tornatore, Roman Polanski and Quentin Tarantino. He has been awarded two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, three Grammy Awards, six BAFTA Awards and many other international awards. His score for “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” is considered one of the most iconic in the history of cinema. In 2016, he won the Academy Award for the soundtrack to the film “The Hateful Eight” directed by Quentin Tarantino.

About “Le Muse”

The “Le Muse” ensemble is made up of elite musicians, distinguished within the famous “Rondò Veneziano” group. Under the direction of maestro Andrea Albertini, the orchestra offers interpretations of remarkable sensitivity and precision, paying a unique tribute to the art of Ennio Morricone. The concert includes some of the most beloved soundtracks from the maestro’s repertoire, as well as special moments with the soprano Susanna Rigacci.
