Romania, potential host of the first green energy wind-powered concert in the world

Neversea music festival might become the first green energy festival in the world fueled by wind power, the organisers announced in a press release. This might happen at the edition next year at the earliest.

This year, Neversea is due in Constanta, during July 4-7.

Neversea, the music festival by the Black Sea aims to become the first music festival in the world almost entirely powered by green energy from wind source coming from the Fântânele-Cogealac-Grădina wind park in Constanta county. The organisers of the festival have inked a partnership in this regard with the energy company that owns the wind park.

The implementation of the infrastructure will start this year and will be concluded for the 2020 edition.

For this year edition, the energy company will set up a green area, fully powered by renewable energy. Actions to prevent, decrease and compensate any potential side effect on the environment will be also taken, starting with the selective waste collection and its recycling and replacing plastic items by recyclable materials.

To mark the moment, DJ Alex Parker has spun from the top of a wind turbine, for the first time in the world.
