Romania’s National Art Museum (MNAR) in Bucharest received TripAdvisor excellence certificate for the second year in a row due to visitors’ favorable reviews during last year. TripAdvisor prize is awarded following the qualitative analysis of those who visited MNAR, while reflecting the institution’s positive image. 88,150 people visited the National Art Museum in 2014.
Set up in 1948, the museum is hosted by the former Royal Palace of Romania.
MNAR owns the richest Romania and world art patrimony in the country, while developing exclusive tours and events. 210 school programs for families and teenagers and 107 programs for adults were running during 2014, luring 16,182 persons.
Virtual tours were also available for free on the museum’s website. Organized in partnership with Imago Factory, the tours also include, besides the museum’s permanent galleries, the satellite museums- Art Collections Museum, Zambaccian Museum and Theodor Pallady Museum.
It was also last year when MNAR launched a multisensory tour of the European Art Gallery comprising three multimedia wide-sized apps, tactile replicas, textile samples, “a sound library” and “an olfactory library” developed within ARTtouch project dedicated to persons with eye and ear disorders, financed by Orange Romania foundation.
