Romanian band TROOPER opens the DEEP PURPLE gig, in May

The Romanian heavy metal band has good reasons to be proud and extremely happy! Trooper is performing live as the opening act for the legendary rock icon DEEP PURPLE. Founded in 1995, Trooper became one of the most appreciated and loved heavy metal bands in Romania. The heavy metal group has opened for Iron Maiden, Yngwie Malmsteen,  Manowar, Prodigy, Judas Priest, Whitesnake, WASP, Europe, Sepultura, Rasmus, Dog Eat Dog or Nazareth.

Deep Purple will hold a concert in Romexpo’s A parking lot in Bucharest during the “Long Goodbye TOUR” in which the 5 members will promote their latest album“Infinite”.

Deep Purple is considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as a progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in 1970. Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the “unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies”. They were listed in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as “the globe’s loudest band” for a 1972 concert at London’s Rainbow Theatre,  and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

Infinite (stylised as inFinite) is their 20th studio album, released on 7 April 2017. The track “Time for Bedlam” was released via YouTube and Spotify on 14 December 2016 and “All I Got Is You” followed on 10 March 2017. The album contains a bonus DVD entitled “From Here to Infinite”. The Japanese limited edition (“first pressing edition”) features the album as a SHM-CD on the first disc and with an additional EP, Time for Bedlam. and a special boxed set containing 5 LPs, one CD and a DVD.A high resolution digital version (48kHz/24bit) of the album was also made available for purchase via The album will be supported during Deep Purple’s The Long Goodbye Tour, commencing in May 2017.
