Romanian Cultural Institute ‘Dimitrie Cantemir’ in Istanbul sets an exceptional program between 20th November and 3rd December, celebrating National Day, informs Icr.ro.

Romanian Cultural Days, premiered by ICR Istanbul, 4 towns, 20 events to promote Romanian cultural values in the Aegean Sea area.

Izmir, the most important city on the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea, begins the event on 20 November. Romanian Cultural Days continue to Çanakkale, an important university center, then goes to Thessaloniki, the most important university and cultural center in northern Greece. Edirne closes in the 2014 Romanian Cultural Days.

The audience will experience theatres shows, movie projections, meetings with local university students and teachers, Romanian artists master classes, meetings with the public and local artists, photo-documentary exhibition ‘Adak ale is Alive!’, concerts of electro world music band, Cobzality as well as remarkably soprano recital Otilia Radulescu Ipek from Istanbul State Opera.

Two of us’ is a non-verbal theatre play written and performed by Paul Cimpoieru and Ana Pepine. It’s a classical ‘love story’, full of sensitivity and expressivity in the universal language of non-verbal communication. The perfect combination of dance and theater conducts the spectator into a dream world.

TFBVFM’, built on Romanian folktale tells a present story about the inner journey Prince Charming takes to find himself, a journey full of ups and downs with obstacles and temptations.  The show is presented in Izmir and Canakkale. Cobzality Romanian soul is a project, which combines old traditional music with modern sounds.

Adak ale is Alive! Is an ICR Istanbul initiative in collaboration with photojournalist Bogdan Cristel and The community of Adak ale Islands in Istanbul.

ICR Istanbul with the help of ‘Secvente Association’ nominates Romanian Short Waves 2014, a program that promotes independent movies.

Romanian Cultural Institute, ‘Dimitrie Cantemir’ Istanbul collaborates with public institutions: Romanian General Consulate in Izmir, Economic University Izmir, Metropolitan City Hall, Izmir, Honorary Consulate of Romania – Edirne, Edirne City Hall, and Romanian Consulate in Thessaloniki.
