Romanian designer’s collection featured by Vogue UK magazine
Photos of the latest fashion collection signed by Romanian designer Florin Dobre, which has been released in London on Monday, have been published by the online edition of UK Vogue magazine, in the autumn/winter collection.
“Nepsis” collection signed by Florin Dobre is inspired by the Dacian-Roman culture. The designer, a Dobruja native, says the “nepsis” term originates from the New Testament and is an urgent call to the spirit’s vigilance. According to the artist’s representatives, Dobruja was the region where the first Dacians (Romanians’ ancestors) were being Christianized in the first century AD.
“Nepsis, The last (re) legion” collection represents “a trip to the origins, to the holly traditions inherited from the ancestors.”
The collection focuses on clothes inspired by the traditional folk costumes from Hateg Land and Padureni Land, Romania.
The fabrics (wool, toile, cotton and flax) are produced be the former Dorobantul factory, which has been closed down in November, after 129 years since foundation.
