A virtual exhibition highlighting the Romanian traditional clothing was launched at the Romanian Peasant Club in Bucharest on Thursday, through the “We wear culture” project, run by Google Arts & Culture together with almost 200 cultural institutions.
The project is focused on fashion, including exhibitions worldwide, which will reveal the stories behind these outfits. The project is available by Google Arts & Culture application for iOS and Adroid.
Therefore, 3,000 years of fashion encompassed in the items on display at the Romanian Peasant Museum will be explored on Google Arts & Culture. The virtual travel will be accompanied by a soundtrack from the museum’s “Ethnophonie” collection, comprising round dances and other Romanian traditional songs.
“We wear culture” project has run on over 40 countries and provided over 700 images that enabled virtual visitors to examine outfits and pricks of needle in depth.
