“The Small White” story written by the Romanian Marian Coman has been published in the January issue  (116) of the US Apex Magazine, which ranks in the top five SF, Fantasy and Thriller magazines in the world. Marian Coman has thus become the first Romanian author released in the famous magazine.

”The Small White/ Albilita” tells the fantasy story of a little girl living in the communist Romania, whose dreams appear painted on the walls of the buildings. The short story is a metaphor about innocence and about the way dreams are broken in the authoritarian regimes.

I am glad my first text published in the United States is The Small White. It’s a story about fragility, about isolation and about childhood, about how hard is to be different in an authoritarian regime,” Marian Coman said.

Apex Magazine is one of the most important SF, Fantasy and Horror literature publications. A monthly magazine, it has come out since 2005, with Jason Sizemore as publisher. Among the authors published by Apex there are Neil Gaiman, Ben Bova, Jeff VanderMeer or Lavie Tidhar.
