Russian music, folk art available at the Russian Centre in Bucharest next month

After the blustering success at the Romanian Athenaeum last year, pianist Mădălina Pașol returns to Romania to perform several concerts in Bucharest. The first performance is scheduled at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture on April 1^st, with the programme including pieces by Russian great composers: Igor Stravinsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky or Alexander Scriabin.

Mădălina Pașol graduated from the Art University in Berlin and was awarded various prizes and scholarships in Germany, Italy, Japan. She was on tour in Germany, France, Sweden, Spain, Poland, Estonia, Romania and Japan. The Romanian pianist is also involved in numerous artistic projects, being the founder of the Art and Classic Music Salon in Berlin and of the Art Institute in Bucharest, which promotes young artists while promoting cultural events.

The Russian Centre will also host an exhibition of Russian folk items made of natural materials. Visitors can admire but also buy delicate ornamental pots made of ceramics or wood, embroidery and lacery objects, all carefully designed in Russian famous handicraft locations such as Paleh, Holui or Mstiora.

By visiting the exhibition, you will get acquainted with the particularities of each craft, be it artistic embroidery, pocket-size painting on various supports, bone and wood sculpture, cobweb-like shawls or the renowned matryoshka dolls. The display is open during April 11^th-21^st.

55 years since Gagarin flight in the outer space

A conference occasioned by the 55^th anniversary since Gagarin’s flight in the outer space will be held at the Russian Centre (50 Lascar Catargiu Boulevard) on April 8^th. Cosmonauts I. Baturin and D. Prunariu will attend.

The conference will also award the best drawings and essays racing at the “Cosmos” contest organized by the Russian Centre from February 5^th to March 25^th. The competition addressed to the gymnasium and high school pupils countrywide.

The pupils’ works will be on display during April 8^th-15^th.
