The new SkyShowtime streaming service will officially launch on 20 September 2022, bringing its exclusive premium entertainment offering into European homes for the first time. In Romania, the platform will become available by the first quarter of 2023.

SkyShowtime will launch in mid-September in the Nordics, followed by launches in the Netherlands, Iberia and Central and Eastern Europe. The streaming service exclusively offers Hollywood movies and new series produced by the world’s biggest studios.

The parent company of NBCUniversal and Sky – and Paramount Global (NASDAQ: PARA, PARAA), SkyShowtime will launch in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden on September 20 before expanding to the Netherlands later this year in the quarter of fourth. SkyShowtime will continue its expansion in Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Central and Eastern Europe (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia ) in the coming months. Specific release dates and pricing will be announced soon.

With thousands of hours of quality entertainment from the world’s biggest studios, SkyShowtime will exclusively present the cinema films produced by Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures, America’s longest-running studios which together account for nearly 50% of Hollywood grosses. The new platform will host among the latest blockbusters including Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, Minions: The Rise of Gru, The Northman, Sing 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, The Lost City, Downton Abbey: A New Era, Nope , Belfast, Ambulance and The Bad Guys.

In addition, SkyShowtime offers new premium series, children’s and family productions and a selection of iconic titles from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, SHOWTIME®, Sky Studios and Peacock. SkyShowtime will also feature local productions, documentaries and specials from its markets. In the Nordic regions, as a result of the partnership with Paramount, SkyShowtime will replace Paramount+. Thus, audiences will be able to watch favorite content on Paramount+ such as Halo, Yellowstone, The Offer and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as well as SHOWTIME® originals Yellowjackets, Dexter: New Blood, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber and The First Lady. And for the first time, subscribers will have access to even more premium, new and exclusive Universal Pictures, Sky Originals and NBCUniversal branded series and movies.
