Tenor Ştefan von Korch starts the new year in his signature score – Carl Orff’s „Carmina Burana.” Thus, classical music lovers in Cluj Napoca will have the opportunity to listen to his spectacular interpretation of Carmina Burana on January 17 at Auditorium Maximum Hall. The concert will take place at 7:00 p.m.

About the work that pushes the limits of the technical and artistic means of the male voice Stefan von Korch says: “Carmina Burana is very impressive from all points of view. It is a demanding work, but with great satisfactions, with superb solo and choral lines and overwhelmingly rich orchestral arrangements. A sound experience of great intensity, which no one forgets.”

With a voice considered by many specialists to be of reference for the particularly high and provocative score of Carmina Burana, Ştefan von Korch debuted this summer at Palermo Classica Festival, with a spectacular interpretation, which was appreciated by both the public and the press. The performance on the opening night of the Palermo Classica Festival, held behind closed doors, was then followed by a new concert in the historic Valley of the Temples region of Sicily.

For lovers of the vocal-symphonic genre, Carmina Burana means the joy of hearing the most famous cantata in the world, long-awaited and acclaimed everywhere, often the opening or closing work of the seasons of philharmonic orchestras everywhere. And for the audience in Cluj Napoca the concert scheduled for November 17th brings the chance to listen to tenor Ştefan von Korch, currently one of the most sought-after soloists in Romania and abroad, for the tenor line in Carmina Burana, which he has already performed in Romania over 40 times.

In the concert on January 17th, the soloist will be joined by soprano Mihaela Ipate and baritone Mihai Damian, along with the choir and Orchestra of the  “Transilvania” State Philharmonic. The choir conductor will be Cornel Groza, and the concert will take place under the baton of Maestro David Crescenzi.
