The 31st edition of the Sibiu International Theater Festival kicks off tomorrow

The 31st edition of the Sibiu International Theater Festival starts tomorrow. Over 830 events await us during ten days full of theatre, dance, music, circus, exhibitions and much more. More than 5000 artists from 82 countries are expected.

According to tradition, FITS presents during the festival, which this year takes place between June 21 and 30, FITSRecommend – an informative column with the most captivating performances of the day, so that those present in Sibiu can make the most suitable and inspired choices. Thus, June 21, the debut of the festival, brings to the public two world premieres from the famous American actor Tim Robbins and the Italian Pippo Delbono, the video installation Not Once with Mikhail Baryshnikov, by Jan Fabre, but also the free HOLOGRAF concert in Piața Mare in Sibiu. The first day of the festival means more than 15 countries, presenting 13 exciting shows, two world premieres, six free outdoor shows, one show broadcast online.

● World premiere: The Awakening – Candor and visual poetry, Pippo Delbono returns to Sibiu with a masterful confession show. Incisive, moving, unforgettable,

● Not Once – An art installation designed to take your breath away bearing the signature of two indisputable artists of the world: Jan Fabre and Mikhail Baryshnikov

● FITS opening gala – National Chamber Choir “Madrigal – Marin Constantin” – guests Tim Robbins, Pippo Delbono and Constantin Chiriac,

● Container – An exploration of human existence through suspense techniques,

● After the storm – A eulogy to the movement as a form of emancipation of humanity,

● A More Special Mermaid – Man is cursed by a mermaid he accidentally caught in the frozen and salty waters. Summary of recommendations For shows with open access June 21:
