One week till the The Masterpiece Experience show, an event of held on April 27 at Sala Palatului in Bucharest. “Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away” – Oscar Wilde, the project’s motto, an outstanding cinematic concert with famous soundtracks from Interstellar & Dark Knight movies.
Ciprian Costin (photo) is the creator, producer and conductor of Masterpiece Experience. Given the involvement in this project of the Hollywood master composer Hans Zimmer and Thomas Bergersen, the Romanian audience will get in touch with the orchestra music of the future.

The Masterpiece Experience Show features some of the best epic and movie trailer music ever written. Production wise, the show uses a local orchestra of at least 30 performers, synchronized rock lights, modern instruments as electric cello and iPad, laptops loaded with custom sound samples, LED Screens or Projectors capable of immersing the viewer into an epic world.The artist team has collaborated with: Hans Zimmer, Two Steps From Hell, Thomas Bergersen, Cirque du Soleil, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Carlos Santana, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Alicia Keys, Aerosmith, Marilyn Manson, the Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, Johnny Marr, and with corporations as Google and Microso
In March 2013, The Masterpiece Experience had Tina Guo, Uyanga and Ciprian Costin-conducted Bucharest Symphonic Orchestra as its guests. The program took a chronological route: the beginning of the universe (THE TREE OF LIFE), the Earth millions of years ago (OUT OF AFRICA), Ancient Greece (GOD OF WAR), Roman Empire (GLADIATOR), Middle Ages (DRACULA), life of some social categories in interwar Japan (MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA), the future where the subconscious could be controlled thru dreams (INCEPTION), the sacrifice-demanding future (THE DARK KNIGHT).
Epic soundtracks premiered at the event, the work of some 140 artists who offered 140 minutes of beautiful music on the backdrop of dazzling light, laser and pyrotechnic and choreographic effects. The Hollywood composers involved – Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Thomas Bergersen, Guy Farley and Gerard Marino (musical scores written especially for this event and electronic sounds), allowed the Romanian audience to see what the future of an orchestral music concert will look like.
