The Soul of Romania Festival – the 3rd edition returns to Savarsin
For the third year in a row, the Royal Domain of Săvârșin will come alive on April 26 and 27 with the charm of the traditional Romanian village. The event will feature artisans of authentic flavors, craftsmen ready to share age-old trades passed down through generations, and a lineup of performers for all generations.
The “Soul of Romania” Festival, initiated by Profi, brings together small local producers, workshops with skilled artisans, an open-air cinema screening Romanian films, traditional dances, and concerts by Irina Rimes and the Osoianu Sisters, Zdob și Zdub, Emeric Imre Trio, a Maria Tănase tribute (Mariano Castro & Alexandra Fits), and a soul-stirring talk with Father Constantin Necula, hosted by journalist Cătălin Ștriblea.
The official opening will take place on Saturday at 12:00 PM, following a tour of local producers and artisans led by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, His Royal Highness Prince Radu, along with several officials, central and local authorities, and Profi representatives.
All festival areas are named in honor of the traditional Romanian village, from the Children’s Lane, passing through the Village Market and Târgoveți Inn, to the Artisans’ Road.
Several NGOs supported by Profi in their mission to do good will be present at the festival, offering visitors details and real-life examples of involvement in Culture, Education, Health, Environment, Sports, Innovation, and Community—the seven CSR pillars toward which Profi, a leading Romanian-born retailer, directs its support.
Entrance to the Soul of Romania Festival is free on April 26 and 27, between 12:00 and 7:00 PM. Participation in all activities is free of charge, and access to the Royal Domain of Săvârșin is through the gate located on DC74, in the Valea Troașului area.
This is a family-friendly event, with numerous workshops and surprises especially for children. Additionally, free water stations will be available to help visitors stay hydrated throughout the day.
The Soul of Romania Festival encourages the community to reconnect with authentic values, delicious traditional foods, and Romanian village customs through experiences set in a natural setting that recreates rural life. Profi’s initiative is part of the tripartite agreement “Growing Communities,” signed by the Association of Her Majesty’s House, the “Mihai I” University of Life Sciences in Timișoara, and the Profi retail chain, aiming to support local producers and preserve authentic Romanian craftsmanship.
