Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation and the National Museum of Art of Romania have the distinct honor of presenting the Talent 35 visual arts exhibition, which will be open to the public from January 18 to February 23, 2025, in the elegant Kretzulescu Halls (entrance via Walter Mărăcineanu Street, opposite Kretzulescu Church).

The official opening will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 5:00 PM, graced by the presence of Her Majesty Margareta and Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia. The exhibition has been curated with the utmost care and expertise by Associate Professor Dr. Ion Anghel, a distinguished painter, member of the Romanian Visual Artists’ Union, and mentor within the Young Talents national program.

Since its inception in 2009, the Young Talents program has been a beacon of support for 440 gifted students from vocational education institutions, offering scholarships to help them achieve their full potential and express their artistic prowess. This financial aid has been complemented by intergenerational mentorship, cultural promotion, and international exchanges. Many of the program’s early beneficiaries have ascended to prominence, earning national and international recognition and establishing flourishing careers in the arts.

For the first time, the Talent 35 Anniversary Exhibition will bring together 52 exceptional emerging visual artists, all beneficiaries of the Royal Foundation’s support, to display their creations in Romania’s foremost art institution—the National Museum of Art of Romania, located in the historic Royal Palace. This exquisite collection of 91 works, produced using a wide array of techniques such as painting, photography, sculpture, installation, fashion design, illustration, and scenography, represents a profound testament to the artistic journeys of these young talents. The exhibition will be open to the public from January 18 to February 23, 2025.

A highlight of the opening will be the launch of the Talent 35 Contemporary Art Album, an exquisite compilation of 72 selected artworks, capturing the essence of these gifted artists and their ability to share their talent with the world. The album is coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Carmen Apetrei.

On January 18, 1990, under the guidance of King Michael, Her Majesty Margareta and Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia embarked on their first humanitarian endeavors upon their arrival in Romania. Over the past 35 years, the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation has implemented a multitude of sustainable initiatives in education, culture, community development, and civil society, contributing significantly to Romania’s spiritual and social revitalization.

As it marks its 35th anniversary, the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to nurture and promote emerging artists, opening new cultural horizons through the bilateral initiative “Talent 35— Supporting and Promoting Emerging Artists and Contemporary Art.” Created in partnership with Nedland Kultur of Norway, this initiative supports contemporary art and emerging talents, raises awareness of cultural diversity, and strengthens cultural cooperation and exchange between Romania and Norway.
