Tenor Stefan von Korch back on stage of the Iași National Opera on March 16 in “The Merry Widow 2.0” directed by Andrei Şerban
The cultural agenda of March brings back to the attention of the Iași audience the operetta “The Merry Widow 2.0,” and the performance scheduled for March 16 on the stage of the Iasi National Opera is the perfect opportunity to meet again with tenor Stefan von Korch. The beloved soloist returns in the role of Camille de Jolidon, a charming and romantic character that he also played in the 2016 staging of the beloved operetta. Both stagings bear the emblematic directorial signature of maestro Andrei Şerban.
Tenor Stefan von Korch says: “I am delighted to perform again for the Iași audience, which I feel is always in love with the lyrical art.”
“The Merry Widow 2.0” is situated on the dividing line between operetta and musical. The current directorial version is a fascinating mirror of our times through dialogues and the relationship between the characters. And the theme of sincere love remains the element that creates the bridge with the original libretto. Franz Lehár’s music is highlighted by spectacular choreographic moments, captivating set design and exchanges of lines that are as current as they are funny.
In the performnce scheduled for March 16, the audience will also applaud: Nicoleta Maier – soprano, Andrei Lazăr – tenor, Diana Ionescu – soprano, Lucian Dolhăscu – bass and others
Tickets for “The Merry Widow 2.0” slated for March 16 at 6:30 PM at the National Opera in Iaşi can be found on Operaiasi.ro
