“Tevye,” “Nabucco,” and “Romeo and Juliet” on the Bucharest National Opera stage

The second week of October continues with a series of performances full of drama, passion, and exceptional music on the stage of the Bucharest National Opera. From October 7 to 13, the public is invited to enjoy monumental operas and ballets that have captured the hearts of audiences worldwide.

Tevye – Tuesday, October 8, and Wednesday, October 9, at 6:30 PM
The contemporary dance performance “Tevye” by Olivier Truan is an emotional story about traditions, change, and family bonds. Inspired by Shalom Aleichem’s stories, the show explores the struggles of a father trying to uphold his values in a changing world. With expressive music and soulful performances by the dancers, this is a performance not to be missed.

Nabucco – Friday, October 11, at 6:30 PM
Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpiece “Nabucco” is one of the most dramatic and powerful operas in the international repertoire. This opera, which follows the story of King Nabucco and the Jewish people, is renowned for the chorus “Va, pensiero,” which will resonate once again in the moving interpretation of the Bucharest National Opera artists. It promises to be an evening where the power of music and history intertwine into an unparalleled experience.

Romeo and Juliet – Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, at 6:30 PM
On Saturday and Sunday evening, the classic tale of tragic love between “Romeo and Juliet” will be brought to life with the music of Sergei Prokofiev. This moving ballet will transport the audience to Verona, where the passion of the world’s most famous lovers confronts a cruel fate.
