The most awaited two-wheeled vehicle festival, Iubim 2 Roti (“We Love Two Wheels“) taking place last weekend, at Romexpo, came to an end. A powerful show organized by Moto Free Riders Association with the support of City Hall and Bucharest Traffic Police Brigade, the event marked the third edition, this year, and it was designed as an awareness campaign of the presence of two-wheeled vehicles in traffic – bicycles, mopeds or motorcycles. Unfortunately, barely 800 people attended the festival over its two days, comparing with 2014 when the number of spectators was very high.
“We intend to educate road users in the spirit of mutual respect, safety and, last but not least, of social responsibility. The number of two-wheeled vehicles are in continuing increase in Romania. However, their users have not yet been fully accepted by other participants in traffic,” declared the president of Moto Free Riders Association, Anton Cosmin.
The parade started at 11:00 Saturday morning and the assembly of bicycles and motorcycles began at 13:00. The two days were marked by special shows such as: parades, concerts, motorcycle stunt show, exhibition custom bikes and more. Cristi Hrubaru hosted the event that rejoined on Saturday and Sunday evening Basska, Coma, Blade Strings, Vita de Vie, Suie Paparude and the german symphonic metal band, Xandria, founded by Marco Heubaum in 1994.
The band’s music combines elements of symphonic metal with light electronic elements. After various demos and great success on different MP3 portals, they released their first album in 2003, entitled Kill the Sun, which reached No. 98 on the German music charts.
With „Sacrificium”, released in May 2014, Xandria take another big musical step. Once again, the orchestrations are arranged by Joost van den Broek, who also acts now as a co-producer. In addition to the real string instruments and authentic Celtic whistles and pipes, the band works with a full classical choir – the renowned Dutch “Pa’dam” choir – which they have never done before. Another milestone for Xandria´s sound! „Sacrificium” makes the band’s highest chart ratings to date, reaching no. 25 in the German album charts, as well as entering the charts in other countries, including – for the first time – the UK and the USA, according to xandria.de.
Also, the public can pre-order their upcoming EP “Fire & Ashes” which will be released on July 31st! „Our EP will feature 7 songs, including 2 re-recorded Xandria classics,” the vocalis Dianne van Giersbergen told during the concert.
