Top 5 most vegan curious countries
Over 600,000 people took part in Veganuary last year, showing that many are at least curious about adopting the lifestyle. With this in mind, experts at ICE Headshop decided to find out the European country that is most vegan curious. They utilised online analytics tool SEMrush to analyse the most common search terms in reference to reducing meat intake.

The most vegan curious country in Europe is Luxembourg, with a vegan interest score of 9.6 out of 10. Luxembourgers search for ways to give up meat on average 42 times per 100,000 internet users, annually. Luxembourg is adapting to the market with vegan options becoming more and more available in restaurants and supermarkets alike.
Ireland is a close second for most vegan curious with a score of 9.2/10. Although the thought of Irish food evokes images of shellfish, stews and of course soda bread. There are plenty of plant-based options available for both tourists and locals. Those looking to join the vegan army are searching 18 times per 100,000 internet users.
In third is Latvia, with terms for cutting back on meat coming drumming up a vegan interest score of 8.8 out of 10. A country where its cuisine is laden with meat and fish, Latvia’s capital Riga, has carved out a space for vegan friendly cuisine.
Slovenia lands in fourth position (8.4/10). A country known for its natural beauty, Slovenia’s cuisine is much like Latvia’s, based on goulash, stews and hotpots. Many of its famed dishes’ ingredients are easily substituted for vegan alternatives.
Rounding out the top 5 is the Czech Republic. Annually terms for reducing meat intake are searched almost 13 times per 100,000 internet users, leading to a vegan interest score of 8 out of 10. Despite the fact that Czech cuisine is known for its dumplings, stewed meats and veggies, there are a variety of vegan restaurants that cater to your dietary requirements should you choose to eat less meat
