Transilvania Shorts Festival in Sibiu this weekend
The third edition of the Transilvania Shorts Festival is ready to toe the line in Sibiu during June 29-July 1.
TRANSILVANIA SHORTS [TS] is an annual event designed to provide artists with a platform of free, independent thinking. Transilvania Shorts supports film directors to obtain public awareness and to be awarded for their work.
The third edition of TS 2018 will take place in Sibiu, from June 29 to July 1, at the Gong Theatre (4 Alexandru Odobescu street) and at Astra Film Cinema (11 Piața Mică).
TS2018 will display a diversity of international short films in the following categories: Animation, Human rights, Experimental, Fashion, Fiction, Stop motion, Student.
Those 49 short films selected in the competition this year are coming from 21 countries and have been shortlisted among those over 900 films registered in the contest: South Africa, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, South Korea, Croatia, Switzerland, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, UK, the Netherlands, Réunion, Romania, Spain, United States of America.
The shortlisted movies within the Transilvania Shorts festival have also been awarded across renowned festivals around the world: Bafta, Berlinale, Brussels Short Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, Festival Internacional de cine de Gijon, Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, Raindance Film festival, Sarajevo Film, Stockholm International Film Festival, Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film, Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, USA Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, Venice International Film Festival, Vienna Shorts Festival, Warsaw Film Festival, etc.
The jury consists in: Bogdan Orcula [film editor], Ștefan Crișan [music producer and sound editor], Sorin Baican [film editor, audio-video producer], Bogdan Filip [director of photography and photographer], Pop C. Augustin [actor, animator], Damian Groves [film director, animator and fine artist], Bogdan Zelinschi [illustrator and animator] and Radu Munteanu, producer and film director, founder and director of Transilvania Shorts festival.
