What’s in town on Dragobete?

Even if you don’t celebrate Dragobete, the Romanian Valentine’s Day or you are a foreigner living in or visiting Bucharest, you can still have fun on a Friday night. And tomorrow, February 24 has plenty of events to lure Bucharesters, expats living in the Romanian capital or tourists passing by. We summed up a few going out tips for you:

  • Dragobete live ‘ red wine and heartache’ concert performed by Old Spirits Reunion at ARTea tea house (1 Amiral Vasile Urseanu street, near Romana Square) at 8 p.m. Old party beats sung by Maria Tanase, Gabi Lunca or Gica Petrescu will be reinterpreted on blues, bossanova, tango, swing and jazz manouche rhythms.
  • Famous local singer Andra will perform live at Sala Palatului on February 24 and February 25 at 8 p.m, to present “Love changes everything” show.
  • Pepe and his band will tread the boards at Beraria H on Friday, turning the famous beerhouse in Bucharest in the Lovesomeness City.
  • Romanian rock tribute band Speak Floyd is performing at Hard Rock Café at 22:30hrs in a special sound and light show.
  • “Fusion Dragobete” is a memorable show where blues, jazz, classic rock and country music are merging with unedited harmonies. Elisabeta Restaurant (45 Elisabeta Boulevard) Friday at 20:30.
  • Aldo Blaga is “dedicating” the launch of his album “About Dragobete” to a noble cause, to support Necuvinte Association fighting against domestic violence. The event’s slogan is ‘United we share!’ Concert is due on Friday at 8 p.m. at the Temple Social Pub (71-71 Marasesti Boulevard).
  • Alma-Nicole will perform Romantic songs from famous movies, jazz, pop-rock or indie pieces on guitar beats, all in tune with the month of love. Puro&Bio (20 Campineanu street), 19:30hrs.
  • Grill Pub is inviting everyone to a KARAOKE PARTY, starting 22:00hrs.
  • Ad Hoc concert “Dragobete, the one wallowed in love”, Stuf Vama Veche (25 Berzei street) 22:00hrs.
