The weather will stay chill in Bucharest in the upcoming two days, with wind gusts reaching up to 60kmph. According to the latest special forecast issued by the Romanian Meteorology Authority (ANM), it will rain and there will be black ice.
“On Thursday, the wind will blow with 55-60kmph, it will rain (around 3-5 liters per square meter) and black ice will be present as well. On the night of Thursday to Friday, the wind will moderate, with gusts reaching 35-45kmph. Rains might turn to sleet and snowfall, particularly on Friday morning”, reads the ANM press release.
The maximum temperature will be around minus 1C and the minimum minus 3…minus 2C.
On Friday, it will temporarily rain in the Capital, with short episodes of sleet and snowfall. The wind will be moderate to intense, with gusts reaching up to 55kmph. The average temperature will be around minus 1C.
Black ice is wreaking havoc across the country. Trains have restricted speed before entering Bucharest due to the ice laid on the railway lines. Road traffic is also affected by black ice on several routes in Romania, including on the motorway linking Bucharest to Constanta.
Road traffic on the national road 2B from Buzau to Braila has been closed down on Thursday due to the black ice and strong wind. Freezing rain is also reported in the area, turning into black ice when reaching the soil. Non-slip materials have no effects whatsoever in this case.
