Romanian football player Adrian Mutu has finally arrived in India, where he is to play for FC Pune City. The local media presented him as ‘the brilliant’, who is to be the star of the Indian Superleague. ‘We can hardly wait to see his magic on the pitch!’ newspapers read, according to ziare.com.
Alongside Mutu, FC Pune City has other known players, such as Ivorian Didier Zokora, former player for Tottenham and Sevilla, Yendrick Ruiz, Costa-Rican international and English football players Nicky Shorey (ex-Portsmouth) and Steve Simoensen (ex-Celtic).
Local media informs the Romanian footballer is to have a salary of USD 500,000 per season.
Adrian Mutu, aged 36, terminated the contract with Petrolul Ploiesti on September 26, 2014 to sign with the Indian team FC Pune City, but he could not evolve in the first edition of ISL, because his contract was registered too late. On May 23 Mutu said he has a contract valid for three months with the Indian team FC Pune City, and he will be present there in July for pre-season preparations.
