ATP Finals: Tecau/Rojer, eliminated as they register second defeat
The Romanian-Dutch pair Horia Tecau/Jean Julien Rojer have been eliminated on Tuesday from the ATP Finals in London, after being defeated by Henri Kontinen (Finland)/ John Peers (Australia) 7-6 (3), 7-6 (6) in Group Eltingh/Haarhuis.
Tecau and Rojer, champions in 2015 and 3rd seeded this year, lost the match in one hour and 47 minutes.
In the first doubles match on Sunday evening they were defeated by the French pair Pierre-Hugues Herbert/Nicolas Mahut 1-6, 7-6 (7), 10-8.
On Thursday, the Romanian-Dutch pair will face Ryan Harrison (US)/ Michael Venus (New Zeeland).
For playing to the ATP Finals, Tecau and Rojer will collect a cheque for USD 72,000.
Tecau and Rojer conclude the year 2017 with four ATP titles: US Open, Dubai, Geneva and Winston-Salem.
