Australian Open: Tecau’s and Mergea’s doubles have qualified to quarterfinals and will be adversaries

Horia Tecau/Jean-Julien Rojer (Romania/Netherlands), seeded no. 6 and Florin Mergea/Dominic Inglot (Romania/UK) seeded 14, have qualified on Monday to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open men’s doubles.

Mergea and Inglot hace defeated the main favourites, brothers Bob and Mike Bryan (US) score 7-6 (4) 6-3.

Tecau and Rojer defeated 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (5) Eric Butorac/Sam Groth (USA/Australia), seeded number 12.

The two Romanian will be opponents in the quarterfinals.

Qualification in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open doubles is rewarded with 71,000 Australian dollars (EUR 50,300).
